Holy Land

Day 7- From Jerusalem the journey deepens!  There was ample activity yesterday that covered Renewal of Baptismal Vows in the Jordon River, visiting the sycamore tree Zachaeus climbed and Mass in Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem near the Mt. Of Olives.  Having walked the Palm Sunday road there is a nearer air of the passion.  Today, day 7 was a different footstep path embracing morning prayer in the chapel, on the bus, praying the Hail Mary in English, polish, Ukranian, Spanish and Lithuanian.  Mass was at the Church of Martha and Mary.  Other sites included Masada and the Dead Sea.Jesus covered vast areas Seeking souls for his 'free clinic' , as our guide notes.

tomorrow we attend mass in Shepherd's field.  Come.  Enter in!

Day 4-

This journey is one the faithful would benefit from to enrich the understanding of the life of Jesus.  We are traveling from 8:30 am to 6 pm.  The weather is sunny with light clouds and breeze.  The wind is down from our first arrival evening to a placid splash on the water.  Today we attended Mass on Mt. Tabor's Bascilica of the Transfiguration followed by a group lunch.  The Bascilica was richly designed with mosaics.  The experience of traveling with a group is deepening the ecclesial experience.  It is a shared walk of love in the footsteps of Jesus.

The next stop was Ceserea on the Mediterranean Sea.  The stadium there at the time was for pursuits beyond home life.  There are challenges in each age. The day rounded out at Mt. Carmel monastery.  A gem of vistas and reminder of the centrality of prayer.  A rich legacy of faith!

Day 4-Tiberias, Israel. In the silence of a morning on the Sea of Galilee

Day 3- Sea of Galilee Sunrise

Day 2-Pilgrimage

Day1 Pilgrimage

Solidarity with the poor.  Walking...one bag...prayers...intentions...anticipation...captivated...uncertainty of a new land...language...2000 years ago... A 'YES was uttered... One breath... One syllable that changed everything.

Tomorrow we land in Israel.

Pray for the poor. Let peace reign in our hearts.

Stay tuned for post on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Do you have any prayer intentions?

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
