Thirty Third Sunday in Ordinary Time-November 14th, 2021

Happy Sunday!

Today is observed as the fifth World Day for the poor. Here are the words of Pope Francis for contemplation.

After stopping at a local shop for food the woman was in her car reading messages on the phone when a man cleanly dressed approached the opened car window. Mam, excuse me, I am hungry. (There was a fast food restaurant next door.) May you help me get something to eat? Startled, the woman was not expecting this approach even less so by a cleanly clad and with a mannerly request. The man went on...'whatever you may give from your heart...' The woman herself a little hungry knew cupboards of food were at home and handed this most unlikely man enough to fill for a few meals.

This Sunday in solidarity with the poor we may ask for what do we hunger? Where is our own poverty? How are we answering the plea--May you help me get something to eat? For us indeed is the bread of life, the Eucharist.

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
