Twenty Third Sunday in Ordinary Time-September 5, 2021
Happy Sunday! During this Sunday we give thanks for our gathering in worship of our living Lord, risen from the dead. In the USA tomorrow is Labor Day which for us Christians is each day. We celebrate all the varied forms of labor and the dignity of every worker. Here a former operating lighthouse reminds of the active sea workers today navigating every storm to transport both passengers and goods alike. The lighthouse was a focal point on which to set the travel home. So much more is Christ our eternal light who stands before us lighting every moment until he brings us home. May we pray for all workers, those retired and those who seek honest labor. May we ask for the blessing of fortitude for all Christians to labor in the vineyard of Christ and beg him to send us more priests and fellow laborers for his kingdom come. Peace!
