Twenty Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time- October 18t, 2020
Happy Sunday! There is a great deal facing each person in this time of pandemic. There are layers of need and people have expressed a generalized challenge in carrying rapidly shifting needs. Once God grants the gift of listening humanity takes on new dimensions. Cultural supports to practice the faith are rounding into limited circles and yet we believe God is raising up Saints, including you! Who me? Yes, you! The mission field is here in our cities, our neighborhoods and in our homes. It did not look good before the Red Sea parted, before John the Baptist was born or before Christ rose from the dead. And yet, in the tumult God ripened belief in the hearts of his followers and in encouraging one believer to another. This Sunday, do not lose heart this Mission Sunday. Christ is in the lead! We are helping one another! Even though we may be apart our prayer unites us with the greatest depths. Love is the greatest gift and today is received in the Eucharist. Keep going! A little further and he will will bring us to a land rich in growth and beside restful waters. Know of Christ’s living love for you. Peace!
