Happy Sunday!
We are celebrating what is referred to on occasion as the birthday of the church! The Holy Spirit fills the disciples in the upper room before they go forth to spread the good news! While it is a ‘big’ moment it happens in a ‘small’ place. God moves in small places and people. Nazareth, Bethlehem, San Giovanni Rotondo (Padre Pio’s room pictured) and our homes at this time of quarantine.
Padre Pio, a simple man living for God and interceding for his penitents and the world did so in rustic simplicity. He was free. Even with all the accommodations the virus has brought on, we all have come face-to-face with our purpose and end. From here we are called forth to emerge from the sheltering in place to breathe in the gift of creation, while alive in the Spirit, our advocate! From small places God forms his people. Various poverty can bring the heart to higher horizons transcending any momentary affliction. This Sunday we pray you be moved forward in some way to boldly witness the truth of God’s love! In the essence of a life’s breath we find today soil to plant and hope! In our nothingness God is moving. We commend our nation and world to our advocate.
Peace!
