Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time-July 15th, 2018

Happy Sunday!

Walking in faith within a church community strengthens us.  Facing the wake and funeral of a year old baby is one such time.  The world is racing by with preoccupations of life and inside the field hospital of the church two young parents grieve. Even the silence of the mourners is so silent there is a particular reverence. When will we return to the Lord?  Only he knows.  This baby in her innocence lived cloaked in the love of her parents, healthcare providers and prayer neighbors.  It is difficult to face the loss of a little one.  Yet God is merciful and faithful to the end. The conflicts in this world seem trifle to a tiny white coffin. Jesus tells us to be reconciled and shake the dust from our shoes where no one listens to his witnesses.  This Sunday in the beauty of summer, recall the parents who grieve the loss of their child.  Who look to us to be present and not to abandon them.  Think of the higher things of God.  Live the peace that heals.

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
