Solemnity of the Nativity of John the Baptist- June 23rd...
Happy Sunday, Zachariah was struck silent when he doubted the miracle bestowed on his life of his pregnant wife in advanced years. When speech was restored he spoke blessing of God! Break our silence Lord so we may pour forth blessing! Fill us with your fruit where there is a void. Turn our dry land into verdant pastures, like you bestowed in Elizabeth's womb. Help us to leap for joy like the prophet John the Baptist for love of you, Lord! Answer the prayers for all who yearn for children and grandchildren. Every Sunday may we welcome families with children in our parishes. St. Elizabeth, pray for us! St. John the Baptist, pray for us! St. Zechariah, pray for us! Peace!
