Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time- July 23, 2017
Happy Sunday! How ready are you? Not now, later. It's not a good time due to work, studies or my schedule. Maybe when things settle down... A contraceptive view can distance the culture from one another. Riding by enormous houses one asks how is intimacy fostered? A generation ago homes shared one phone. One tv and one car, if that. Convenience entered the culture and a sense of the miraculous and wonder for life is diminished. Learning to risk for love was lived by the saints. Married couples were united by vows, faith and eternal life. Sacrifice for love had a higher purpose beyond oneself. This Sunday the parable of the tiny mustard seed growing into a bush sheltering life is proclaimed. Picture a tiny seed in your palm or within you. Care for it as given by our Shepherd. God grant us courage! Peace!
