Seventh Week in Ordinary Time-February 19th, 2017

Happy Sunday!

This weekend we hear about turning the other cheek and loving our enemies.  This is underlined when sudden loss enters life.  Years can pass without particular urgency with belief we have longer.  Then the unexpected may knock.

We are invited today to contemplate the life we have been given and how each day is a gift.  Beyond the material what will be the values of life people recall?  Even the good thief as he hung on the cross confesses and desires communion with God.  He is told paradise will be his.  His turn around although a bit later still occurred.  Mary's fiat was a turn to unite herwill to God's will.  The disciples dropped their nets and followed.  Sudden losses change us.

There is an awakening to time.  Time is on God's clock.  So we pray for all who have endured or are enduring sudden loss.  As we walk toward the light may we go rejoicing!  We forgive our enemies and those who persecute us.  The light of our risen Lord Jesus Christ has overcome the darkness and is our bread of life!

Enjoy this Sunday!

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
