Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time- August 14, 2016

Happy Sunday!

A new day has begun!  As we grow in trusting God, fears flee and barriers are lowered.  Love effects change.  In the lovely book: 'The Journey of our Love- The Letters of Saint Gianna Beretta and Pietro Molla,' contains the words of their love story.  No one ever tires of a true love story.  During their engagement Gianna wrote to her beloved, "Now there is you whom I already love, and to whom I intend to give myself to form a truly Christian family."  (P.48) Tomorrow is The Assumption of the Blessed Mother, although not observed as a Holy Day as it falls on a Monday.  Mary's story is one of love begun with her breath of 'yes.'  God has given us the model of love in the holy family.  In turn love is the satin on any hardship and a light that guides our deepest longings.  St. Gianna was blessed with her husband who wrote in return: '"My love is yours, and I want to raise a family with you.  I too want to make you happy and understand you well...I have you, your love and affection, and I am happy."  Mary guide us this Sunday in the ways of lasting love!

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading
