Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time-July 17, 2016

Happy Sunday!

This Sunday we are listening.

We encounter Martha busy with much serving.  We see Mary choosing the better portion to sit at the feet of Jesus.  He tells us she shall not be deprived of his attention and love.

Given recent events in our world we are all saddened by the senseless loss of lives.  We want a better world for our children.  We want more children to fill our lives with the joy of family life looking forward to a sacredove between a mother and father.  We all desire the light of the resurrection!

Be still and know that God is with us.

Calm the storm.

He is near.

My love. Love endures all things.

Love may never be taken away, for we are created to love, to know his love for us eternal.

Without end.

Be close. Breathe in his air.

Mary, who always guides us to her son, incline us to kneel once again.

The chores can wait.

True love awaits.

This Sunday, sit at the feet of Christ.

Look at him looking at you.

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
