Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time-June 26, 2016

Happy Sunday!

Where would we be without Christ? It is a stark thought. We live for the Eucharist given in the mass every Sunday.  Today's reading about a call to be his follower involves consent and of course, love.  In Christ is true freedom.  He created us in love for love. Without turning back, we are invited to walk in his path.  Having our hearts set on Christ requires the deepest trust.  His mission is to do the will of God.  For engaged couples such discussion will grow intimacy, more than napkin color!  For a newly ordained priest we see the beginning of a wedded union with the church.  For the college student moving into the world the heart on fire with hopes are best when centered on The Lord, rather than worldly accomplishments.  True freedom in the recesses of the heart is loving God.  Yes, this will entail transforming.  Remember Augustine?  Martha busy with chores?  To live is to love, in trusting that he will give us all we need when on mission toward Heaven.  Do you have a prayer request?  Send it along to!

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
