The First Sunday of Lent-February 14th, 2016

Happy Sunday!

This Sunday is both the first Sunday in Lent and Valentine's Day in the US.  We hear of Christ's temptation in the desert, yet he is able to recall the love of God the father so satan flees at the word of God.  Love will prevail to cast off any darkness.  Love endures all and gives new life constantly.  One flower shop was known to keep extended hours on Valentine's Day for those running in before closing hours for just the right bouquet!  We know in our life of faith every day is Valentine's Day with The Lord!  He gave his life so we may live to the fullest! How do we show God our love?  Are we telling God of our thankfulness for deliverance from being lost to resting on his heart and the intercession of Mary 's immaculate heart?  Once the bridegroom is in our sight it is easy to be in a 'State of joy!'  The saints' journey is a story of love.  This Sunday call someone to express God's fidelity, write a line to someone who could benefit from the feel of the breeze of hope and post on social media that we are on this road together!  May Sundays be ever-fresh in our lives as a sanctuary of worship in the intimate home of God and his people, our church!

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
