Twenty ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time-October 18, 2015

Happy Sunday!

Today is World Mission Sunday.  Meeting a missionary who has travelled to an area where expression of faith is challenged is a window opening us to the world.  As we motor to our parish we may grow in awareness recalling in places around the world there are Christians who have lost their lives for professing Christ.  Today the first married couple, parents of St. Therese-Zelie and Louis Martin were canonized.  The sacrifice of married love too is united to Christ's love for the church.  May we be opened to a life of total gift in the name of enduring love.  We ask: Lord increase our faith!  Enfold us in the fold of courage to be a 'spark' of light in the clouded discourse of the day.  Spark our desire to reach into the depths to call the name of the beloved, brothers and sisters awaiting the strength to respond to the call of Christ.  God bless the missions and all married couples!

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
