February 22,2015- First Sunday in Lent

Happy Sunday!  Bon Voyage!

We have entered the season of Lent, a time of conversion, of turning toward God.  Next weekend will be in the Holy Land.  Every effort will be made to post from Israel.  It has been a time of preparation.  We seek holy ground where we grow in the full stature of our Baptismal call.  Fr. Stephen C. Doyle in: The Pilgrim's New Guide To The Holy Land, with over 100 trips there describes a pilgrimage as " a means of following the gospel."  He notes a pilgrimage to Jesus' land " is just one more way of saying yes to his invitation."  The gospels are relevant and good as "they are interested in helping us to change our biographies, so that Jesus might be Lord of our life."

So, this Lent is our life a gate to yes for God and a biography of hope in the risen Lord?

Readers are welcome to consider what you may pack for the  1 bag requirement?  Who is helping you to prepare for Lent?  Pray for us as we cast the net following Christ to the land of his truth.  Our journey has begun!  Pray too for lasting peace in the Middle East!

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
