July 27th, 2014- Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Happy Sunday!

30,000 + visitors to casts the net to proclaim a way of life in Christ!  The message is timeless. Here we gather to pray and take a path to strengthen our lives as Christians with Sunday observance as central to our lives.  We have found many yearning for a life of meaning balanced with Christ as our savior who calls all into union with God thru the Holy Spirit.

Readers may explore more of such a response in the Archdiocese of New Orleans to, Reclaim Sunday in the link to the article here:

It takes courage to step out and speak out on faith especially given headlines in recent weeks.  So we continue our review of the commandments, this week, the Fourth: 'Honor your father and your mother." (CCC 2197) For to our parents who accepted the gift of our lives, how could we ever express our gratitude?  It is a lasting legacy to them for us to pass on the faith which we have received, for many thru their unseen daily examples.  The nourishment of unconditional love is forged in the fire of life's lessons thru their noble commitments.  We come to an understanding of God's love thru the 'domestic church' the family. "In creating man and woman, God instituted the human family and endowed it with its fundamental constitution.  It's members are persons equal in dignity." (CCC 2203). Parents have a claim on our prayers for all we have learned from them.  For any in need of support, prayers are lifted up.  For parents calling out to God for any need may our prayers be united to theirs this Sunday.  May a sanctuary of life be cultivated in our hearts, upon our words and in our gaze upon our brothers and sisters.  May open us to new possibilities for reaching our family of faith!

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
