Happy Sunday!
The mystery of suffering is best understood in the context of the Paschal Mystery. A Boston marathoner faces 2014 in a new way as last year's run ended at mile 25 when suddenly the first bomb exploded. The person living
with cancer faces Easter 2014 with the new way that the cancer has not relented and time changes. Global peace in 2014 appears elusive in the daily headlines yet the Lenten outreach to the poor makes tangible the Good News. How do we understand
this Holy Week? This sprig of palm tucked behind the photo frame? In a catholic school the annual spring cleaning had begun. As one second grader dusted the crucifix the following was heard: "Jesus washed other's feet so we need to
dust his!" We enter into these holy days as a course in the ultimate lesson of self gift...pouring out our lives for the love of Christ our redeemer and our neighbor beside us. The sound of palms rustle in the wind. May we pray for anyone
suffering and extend our unity, our strength as a believing community with words of hope... The best is yet to come!
Peace!
