Reclaim Sunday Weekly Blog

February 16th, 2014-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Happy Sunday!

Sundays keep us in the light of Christ, which after recent snowfall in the Northeast is welcomed with opened arms!  The mystery of God is made visible as the faithful are drawn from many points to 'gather' as the Catholic community.  Emerging from the snow packed neighborhoods the faithful are drawn into this is worth contemplating.  As Pope John Paul II wrote in 2003: "The Eucharist is truly a glimpse of heaven appearing on earth."  (Ecclesia de Eucharistia-On The Eucharist in Its Relationship To The Church, p. 26.). So a little heaven on Sunday...transforming every day forward!  Being in the company of the faithful is gift that we in turn carry to all we meet even in our passing by to attend the liturgy.

During the past week some were beginning to pray over possible Lenten offerings, sacrifices offered to our beloved Lord.  The prompting of the Holy Spirit moves us!  May this year find us ever preparing to proclaim the transformation of conversion in accord with the will of God.  Let our 'yes' be a yes, forever!

I do appreciate your way of evangelization in this year of Faith. On the day of Lord, let us do those that foster our relation with him: mass, scripture reading

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
