October 20th, 2013-Twenty Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Happy Sunday!

When faced with the end of life it causes the greater questions to arise.  Where are we headed?  How have we loved?  Am I prepared to meet God?  Life is cast in a new light, of life eternal.  Life gains a new perspective.  How does this Sunday afford a glance toward Heaven?

Sunday provides us time to bask in the merciful love of God.  We may fly unto our Lord staying safely under the shelter of his wing.

From today's Collect:  Grant that we may always conform our will to yours.

The Corpororal Works of Mercy extend offerings to join our will to God's will:

Feed the hungry

Clothe the naked

Visit the sick

Comfort the imprisoned

Give drink to the thirsty

Shelter the homeless

Bury the dead

May we ask the Lord to reawaken in us this Sunday a zeal for his house in Heaven!
