Reclaim Sunday Weekly Blog

August 4th, 2013-Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Happy Sunday!

On occasion a posting may preceed Sunday's arrival to allow for a period of preparation for the day.  How are you proceeding with Reclaiming Sunday?  Has it opened a new dialogue with anyone you may encounter?  In all the considerations in our life of faith that Sunday opens you may find the following one to ponder an excerpt from: In Him Alone is Our Hope: The Church According to the Heart of Pope Francis, Jorge Mario Bergoglio-Pope Francis, published by Magnificat, New York, July 2013.

"Joseph is also saved from an isolated life, from a life that would have been perhaps less turbulent, but that would have lacked the consolation of carrying God in his arms." p. 66.

What may be in store with a life lived with an openess to God's love, forgiveness, and newness?  May the lives of the saints help us to offer prayers of thanksgiving and petitions for the grace of perseverance?  Will you take part and extend the message to Reclaim Sunday?
