Happy Sunday!
The more we are talking about the strength and unity found when we are united to Christ the more we radiate the light of the joy of his saving message! This was very evident in the weekend's first outdoor Mass celebrated by
three area parishes blessed to have the same pastor. From the early weeks of planning to the blue sky day of the Mass parishioners joined together hoping for the fruit of the Holy Spirit through this outreach. The sights and sounds arose from the
morning of energetic conversations, laughter, chairs stacking, tables opening, ice poured into coolers, hammers, taping, flags flapping in the breeze, choirs practicing, casseroles delivered and many, many introductions. Something NEW was happening
here in this neighborhood! How promising it was when the Gospel was chanted over the microphone to fill the air of this urban block for passer-bys to hear! How life giving it is to hear a spirit filled homily urging all to come to know the love
of Christ crucified and risen!! Are we too, in Reclaiming Sunday living as risen and inviting others to do the same?
Into the nightime the day drew to a close and there were still items to be delivered to the parishes. However, parishioners
lingered talking of the day of worship, their lives, their needs and their hope to see one another soon. Praise be to God!
May we all be found to be 'lingering with one another' talking of the things of God. This Sunday 'reach out'
to someone who you have never met or try reconnecting with someone with whom conversation has been abbreviated seeing in them the hand of God's creation.
Keep it up! Pass on the outreach: www.reclaimsunday.net.
Peace!
