Happy Sunday!
The news of a mass shooting in the US was mentioned over the lunch table today. The loss of life numbering over 50 is senseless violence. How does
one take this in? For the post today at Reclaimsunday.net an excerpt from an article by Bishop Emeritus Kenneth Angell will be posted. He wrote it for the Vt Catholic Tribune on the 5th anniversary of 9/11 where he lost his brother David and his
sister in law, Lynn who were on one of the planes. This Sunday let us ask for the grace of forgiveness and an end to all acts against humanity.
He wrote: "...Yet The Lord did not desert me...did not desert
America... On that day of doom. I remember repeating over and over to myself, to the media, to family and friends: We must forgive...we must try to forgive. The Lord will give us the strength to forgive. The words seemed to belie my heart and very soul,
but The Lord did not leave me, and The Lord did not leave our country...So I pray. I pray a lot. I pray deeply...Because I am convinced that the only solution to such overwhelming grief is to forgive those who caused it."
Pray for peace.
Peace!
