Happy Sunday!
Today is Good Shepherd Sunday!
In the Gospel of John 10 we learn Jesus' voice is known by the sheep.
In Ireland a sheep farmer demonstrated how the sheep know his call and assisted by a herding dog keeps them constantly in their care. He pointed showing the sheep born the prior evening and those about to deliver
in the next two hours. He showed the triplets separated from their mother's at birth. The mother 's best feed two. So, the triplet will be bottle fed by the farmer. He showed how the dog constantly moves, to serve the farmer. While
the sheep are expecting before lambing season the dog has to 'slow down' as the sheep are heavy with young. He even noted how the dog 'showed off' circling twice the herd when only once was required, but due to the expectant nature had extra time. He
came to the end instructing now the part people do not like- sheep are raised for slaughter. Ouch. All leads to the death of the adorable lambs.
So, our lives too will end , but to go home to our
Heavenly Father.
Are we following our Good Shepherd's voice this Sunday?
Peace!
