Happy Sunday!
"Count your blessings! There is always someone worse off than you!" the senior parishioner focused after Mass while socializing. A rather benign question
resulted in a most unexpected reply. "How was your week?" raised while greeting this mother of ten. "My daughter passed away last week," she shared in a gentle tone. People were filing past animated from a beautiful liturgy. There it
was. Unveiled, truth. In her deep faith she found the purpose and reason to continue by being fed at the altar. The reply to her was less remarkable than her notable strength in the face of unexpected loss. Christ was close. Her words still
linger: " Count your blessings! There is always someone worse off than you!" So it is.
Counting blessings is less a numerical exercise or journal post as it is recognizing
the hand of God upon our lives. Pope Francis will arrive in the US in less than 30 days! Have we thought how life changes when Christ shows up at our door?
He is knocking!
