Reclaim Sunday Weekly Blog

December 21st, 2014-Fourth Sunday of Advent

Happy Sunday!

Happy Advent!

How is this period of waiting for your family?  For you?  Waiting is not an inactive time, but can be filled with hopeful anticipation.  Elizabeth and her husband had prayed for a child yet the prayer was unanswered, or so it seemed...

We heard today of Elizabeth's news of being with child ( John the Baptist.)

Miracle

We also heard of Mary's YES and appearance of an angel...

Miracle

Miracle falling upon miracle, the fold of fabric occur in ways unexpected.

JBap. 'Inaugurates the Gospel, already from his mother's womb welcomes the coming of Christ...' (CCC 523.) This week we again face the unusual circumstances of our Savior's birth.  'Jesus was born in a humble stable, into a poor family.  Simple shepherds were the first witnesses to this event.' (CCC 525).  'Only when Christ is formed in us will the mystery of Christmas be fulfilled in us.' (CCC 526)

As we wait, it is noticed the wisdom of the church of the liturgical seasons.  May the grace be granted to live more fully the Christ child as the best gift in our lives as we wait in the hush toward Bethlehem.

A blessed time to all reclaimsunday.net visitors!!

Onward!

Peace!

Studying in Jerusalem several years ago, I was very moved by the power the Sabbath has to reclaim and rejuvenate lives of believers, a time for complete rest.
