Happy Sunday!
Today is the day we celebrate when Christ went thru the locked doors in the upper room where the apostles were out of fear. Peace! Was his message to the frightened followers. Peace! And the gift of the Holy Spirit was
given enabling them to go forth to the nations! We may ask what may keep us from moving forth?
Try moving your seat in church and you may meet some new people! Move out from the comfort and trust in God's providence. When doing
so one week a young couple with their newborn were close by. What a gift to any parish! When asked if they would join us for coffee they declined as a 'changing space' was needed for the baby. Fortunately they had made it to mass! It
is a question to linger on...what may keep some from coming, or staying in our faith communities?
This Penecost Sunday, an insightful read by JPII is Gift and Mystery-On the fiftieth anniversary of my priestly ordination.
A
page turner and a one sit read he delves into with jewel like clarity the movement of God in his life leading up to and past his call to the priesthood. He notes the Marian threads in his life. It will pose a new look 'on floors' as his face down on
one upon which other's trod on the way to Christ. His years of formation during occupation during WWII are a chasim of deep water running to life coursing in his veins circulating to the priesthood. How many sacrifices have gone before us
for our faith?
So this Pentecost what fear may delay our response to the Spirit's prompting? ? Move outward with the spirit toward the floor of commitment leading us to union. Is there anyone this Sunday we could call to bring Good
News?
Peace!
