We have arrived to the sixth week of Easter and we are asked to consider if we are proclaiming a joyful sound mentioned in the Entrance Antiphon: "Proclaim a joyful sound and let it be heard; proclaim to the ends of the earth:
The Lord has freed his people, allelluia." Sunday, and reclaiming it, introduces again the possibility of joy in our lives for our savior lives! This is not negating the inevitable challenges that come along, yet welcoming that Christ is with us
through it all! He does not ignore his sheep, he loves each one- He knows each by name, seeks each out and extends a pasture of peace for each, yet not in the way the world may. Today, as we reclaim Sunday, let us pray to notice the sounds in our
lives and make sounds of joy...do they resonate rejoicing? freedom? love? forgiveness? union with Christ? Reclaiming Sunday situates for us the victory of the cross and the life giving waters that flow from it the rest of the week Monday through Saturday.
Mondays take on a new form...for the banner that is waved is not another work week, but: "He is risen!"
